Wilton Gas Expansion Project

Project Description

Yankee Gas finalized its construction activities for the Wilton Gas Expansion Project on October 31, 2014. During this project, 3.5 miles of pipe were installed in the town of Wilton, Conn., enabling gas expansion into Wilton Center as well as to several municipal buildings. Construction activities began on August 1, 2014, and ended ahead of schedule. This was Yankee Gas' first large-scale expansion project under Connecticut's recently enacted Comprehensive Energy Strategy.

This project offers community businesses and residents along the route a chance to convert to high-efficiency natural gas and lower their energy costs. Natural gas is a clean, efficient and affordable fuel source, becoming the “fuel of choice” for Connecticut.
