Multi-Family
Assisted Living Facilities - Dorms - Group Homes - Apartment Complexes - High-Rise Apartments & Condominiums
This initiative is one of several innovative solutions offered by Energize Connecticut and administered by Yankee Gas and CL&P.
Energy-Efficiency Options for New or Existing Multi-Family Buildings
Do you own or manage a multi-family building? Do you have tenants or owners living in the building? Are you about to start construction? Chances are you may be eligible for more than one energy-efficiency program offered to Yankee Gas residential and business customers.
In a multi-family facility, an individual household's energy consumption is impacted by the entire building. Poor insulation in an upper unit will affect the energy usage of the unit below. Ductwork, pipe and cable chases, gaps, cracks, etc., often run throughout the entire building. The most effective way to improve energy efficiency is to address the building as a whole. The Multi-Family initiative gives the owners and managers of these buildings access to multiple energy-efficiency programs through a single, dedicated Yankee Gas program administrator. Both electric and natural gas efficiency measures will be considered. You will be able to benefit from several of the financial incentive programs supported by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund. Incentives and favorable financing (when eligible) are provided to help offset the cost of making these buildings more energy efficient.
