On January 27, 2005, Yankee Gas broke ground for a $108 million liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and production facility. The project includes a 150 foot tank with a 1.2 billion cubic foot storage capacity of natural gas that will help ensure the reliability of Connecticut's natural gas supply, while helping to mitigate energy price volatility for customers.
